Being the main refinery in the Total group and the second largest complex of its kind in Europe, the Total Refinery in Antwerp – also known as TRA – is located in the heart of the city’s port facilities. Specialising in refining as well as in the production of basic chemicals, this centre currently employs 1,000 statutory coworkers and over 400 subcontractors.
Being a fixed partner of the oil group, B.U. Industry has 30 to 65 employees non-stop working here carrying out some 1,000 projects annually. One of the main activities of Total is the current construction of a new substation in the refinery’s LPG unit, where B.U. Industry is responsible for all the cabling works, the pump connections as well as the mounting of high and low voltage lines.
B.U. Industry provides together besides these important sites also the maintenance of the pipelines linking the refinery with the Total depots in Feluy and Marly, as well as the maintenance of the Bazel, Hingen and Merchtem substations. In addition our B.U. also carries out the technical monitoring of the KVC filling station and the calibration of the 500 ISO instruments spread across the refinery.
