HVAC installations for two new shopping malls

Cegelec has been awarded contracts in 2008 for two new major shopping centres.

In Kortrijk, Cegelec is helping to install the HVAC and smoke exhaust systems in the Sint Janspoort mixed retail and residential complex, comprising a large shopping centre and new apartments. Construction of the 40,000 m2 property is being supervised by general contractor De THV Wijngaard NV, a special-purpose association set up by the investor, Foruminvest. At €160 million, it is the largest investment ever made in the city of Kortrijk. Opening is scheduled for March 2010.

Cegelec teams were also involved in the installation of the HVAC system for the new 190,000 m2 Médiacité complex in Liege, Belgium. The project was supervised by general contractor BPC-Moury for investor Wilhelm & Co. The complex, inaugurated in October 2009, houses a shopping centre, and will shortly also accomodate the RTBF television channel’s new drama and entertainment production centre, a group of media companies, a multiplex cinema and an Olympic skating rink.
