We would like to inform you about the acquisition of the Commercial Refrigeration department of Johnson Controls Inc by Cegelec (Belgium).
This department will be integrated in a subsidiary which will be called Cegelec Refrigeration plc.
Cegelec proceeds it’s strategy of growth in Belgium for several years now. This acquisition fits in the group’s policy to increase it’s competences in all active markets.
The Commercial Regriferation department of JCI is one of Belgium’s market leaders in the refrigeration for food distribution, both in the field of installations and services. It was funded in 1937 with the formation of the company Schatten. It’s most important clients are Delhaize, Carrefour, Intermarché, Cora and Makro. It realises a turnover of 7M € a year and employs about 45 people.
The teams of the department as well as it’s management will be taken over by Cegelec and will be located in Leuven (Heverlee), where our Business Unit Ensysta is also located. This localisation allows to develop commercial synergies between this new activity in commercial refrigeration and the BU Ensysta’s industrial refrigeration.
The call center ROC (Remote Operations Center) for the follow-up of alarms and interventions 7d/7 and 24h/24 will also be located in Leuven.
Cegelec Belgium with it’s headquarters in Brussels, exists of 6 Business Units: Building Projects, Building Services, Industry/Infra North and South, Ensysta and Eurotole/Export. It realises a turnover of 250M € a year and employs 1,600 people. Cegelec is one of the leaders in providing technological services to companies, public and local authorities. It is part of the Energie Business line of the Vinci Group. This line realises a turnover of more than 8,000M € a year and employs about 60,000 people.
