Cegelec, Total's longstanding partner at its Antwerp refinery
The TRA refinery in Antwerp – also known as Total Raffinaderij Antwerpen – the main refinery in the Total group and the second largest complex of its kind in Europe, is at the centre of the city’s port facilities. Specialising in refining and in the production of base chemicals, it currently employs a thousand statutory employees and over 400 subcontractors.
Cegelec is a regular partner of the oil company and has between 30 and 65 salaried employees carrying out a thousand projects there annually.
One of the main activities of the Group is the current construction of a new substation in the refinery’s LPG unit, for which Cegelec is responsible for all cabling work, pump connection and setting up high and low voltage cables.
Alongside these major works, Cegelec also provides maintenance of pipelines linking the refinery with the Total depots in Feluy and Marly, as well as maintenance of the Bazel, Hingen and Merchtem substations. It also carries out technical monitoring of the KVC filling station and the calibration of the 500 ISO instruments across the refinery.
